Leadership Tips & Training “Balanced Goals?”

Wednesday January 1st, 2003

If you are beginning a new First Place ministry an important tool necessary for keeping track of weight goals, is the scale. I usually recommend the Health-o-Meter scale, as it is the main brand we have used here at Houston’s First Baptist for the past 20 years. I recently went online to find information about scales for a First Place leader and discovered some good websites that offer scales at reasonable prices. www.medicalscales.com and www.lowestdollar.com are just two websites that I found the Health-o-Meter scales offered. You can also search for other websites by simply searching under Health-o-Meter scales. This is also a good way to get a look at the scales and compare the different features. The most important thing to remember regarding scales: Use the same scale each week, in the same location. Also, provide a secure place for storage of the scales when not in use. When selecting the type and quality of the scale, keep in mind the number of people who will use it each week, and that your First Place ministry will become an ongoing ministry of your church. Therefore, select a scale that will work consistently well for years to come.
