Leadership Tips & Training Register Your Group

Tuesday April 1st, 2003

Leaders, please register your group if you haven’t already done so. Also, if you registered your group, but have never updated information or deleted outdated or incorrect information, please do so as soon as possible. Many people contact First Place looking for churches that offer First Place classes. However, it is frustrating and discouraging to them when they search our website only to find all the groups in their area with information that is not current or that is incorrect. Registering your group and keeping the information updated is extremely helpful to those looking for groups, and it is also a great way to publicize your group.

Are you in need of some encouragement and support as a leader? May I suggest that you contact the networking leader in your state and let them know you are there and that you need some encouragement? Also, you may want to offer your church as a location to host an area leader’s meeting. This is a time for all the leaders in your area to come together for prayer, fellowship and sharing common challenges, as well as creative teaching ideas. If there is no networking leader for your state, please contact me for more information on how to become a networking leader.

We need your creative ideas! At the next First Place conference, June 6 & 7, in Hendersonville, North Carolina, there will be a room set up full of creative ideas for leaders to view. In order for the room to be full of great ideas we need your help. We need ideas for awards, victory dinner themes, skits, different ways to teach the principles of the Live-it, and just anything that is creative and that has really worked well in your class. If you could send a sample, or a picture, of your idea with any instructions or explanations to us, we will share it in North Carolina. Please include a 3 x 5 index card with your name, phone number, and email address. Send it to First Place, Attn: Nancy Taylor, 7401 Katy Freeway, Suite 337, Houston, Texas 77024.
