Live It Articles A Wanna' Be In 2004
Thursday January 1st, 2004
Here we are at the beginning of 2004. What a great place to get back on track. Many of us have been at square one so many times with good intentions of doing it right. Diet and exercise are a high priority after the food season is over.
Some of us fall into the category of a wanna' be . To be a wanna' be in my part of the country is an insult, rather than a compliment. I am of the opinion that many New Year's resolutions are good ideas coming from the heads of wanna'be's, who have a big wishbone. God is looking for those who fall into the gonna' be category. Gonna' be's have strong backbone, and have God ideas. They go to the Father before they begin again to find out what His plan is to get back on track.
The very best personal trainer we can have is the Lord, our Creator. He knows my body down to the very last micro fiber. It is time to tell the Lord, "I want you to be my trainer this year. Looking ahead, ask yourself this question, "Will I look back over 2004, and know that I was a wanna' be or a gonna' be ?
Here are some tips to strengthen your backbone to change from a wanna' be to a gonna' be.
Enjoy all of God's elementary school. You didn't immediately go from first grade to sixth. If you did, you would have failed. If you skipped these grades, you would have missed out on many good teachers and experiences. If you move too fast with a diet or exercise program, you will miss out on blessings and lessons from the Father. Take it slow and enjoy each grade on the way to the top.
- Wanna' be's skip grades and wish
- Gonna' be's pass every grade and strengthen their backbones.
- Wanna' be's look for the quick fix and "drive-thru/break-through's."
- Gonna' be's thrive in walking through the complete process.
- Gonna' be's enjoy each moment, looking for opportunities to give God the glory for the changes in their life. They recognize the break-through and take the time to stop and build an altar to the Lord. I call that "looking for altar opportunities."
- Wanna' be's - It is all about me. Gonna be's - It is all about God.
- Wanna' be's think. Gonna' be's " know.
A Prayer for you as you walk into this New Year 2004:
To know you more in 2004, Lord. Father, your word says "I can do all things through your Son who strengthens me." Help me, Father, to be one of your children who is "gonna' be all I can be for you in 2004." (Phil.4:13)
- I am gonna' be successful for you in 2004. (1Cor. 6:20)
- I am gonna' be walking in complete confidence in your will for my life in 2004. (Luke 11:2)
- I am gonna' be seeking your Kingdom first in 2004. ( Matthew 6:33)
- I am gonna' be decreasing so You will be increasing in 2004. (John 3:30)
Help me, Father, to be all you want me to be. I boldly confess that in 2004 I am gonna' be giving you all of the praise for walking successfully through the process. I have traded my wishbone for a backbone!
